Hi ladies... March is here and it is beginning to look like spring. And the worker bees who help me prepare for shows know that spring is definitely here! They've been cutting like mad for the upcoming shows... I think you'll be happy to see some of the new textured fabrics that have found their way to my studio. Here's the run-down on the shows where you will find me... only four this show season.

Upcoming Shows

The Abbotsford Creative Stitches show is coming up at Tradex on Mar 16/17. I'll be giving a couple of design-related talks... so I hope to see some of you there. Here's a two for one coupon...

Two for 1 Creative Stitches so you can come and share the cost with a friend.

Also coming up is the Victoria Quilt Guild show... May 4-6 at the Tillicum Mall Pearkes Recreation Centre in Victoria. and here is a link to their show information...

And very exciting for us Vancouverites is the fact that the Canadian Quilters Guild national show will be here May 31, June 1-2 at the new convention centre downtown. There are lots of great workshops and lectures so check them out and get registered so you don't miss out... Here is the link to the workshop information...

I will be giving a lecture that I'm quite excited about... check this out...

and here is the link to the overall Quilt Canada show information...

Finally, I'll be ending the show season at the Parksville Quilters' Guild show June 22-24. Here is the link to information about this show...

New Fabric and thread...

I'm pleased to tell you that my supply of Osnaburg cotton has arrived and if you are looking for an inexpensive way to add texture to your quilts, this is it! At $9.95/M for crease-resistant and $8.95/M for regular finish, this natural beige cotton is great for quilt tops, quilt backs and even clothing.

Lots of new Essex linens by Robert Kaufman, including some 55" wide neutrals.

Finally, I'm re-stocked with Superior King Tut and Masterpiece threads if you are needing any.

New Instructions...

I've been teaching a two day design workshop at some local guilds and one of the techniques I teach is a technique for insetting a random shape into a piece of fabric (which could be a quilt top or the background fabric of a block in the quilt). After teaching this a few times it occurred to me that written instructions would be useful for all of us, and so I've prepared some which you will find if you follow this link...

OK... that's it for now. Get out and enjoy the spring weather and please stop by to say hi when you come to the shows. Sending you all a hug... be well.

Lorna
