Some of my customers enjoy coming with a group of their friends. They prefer to set up a time with me when they will have the studio to themselves so that they can debate fabric choices and spread bolts of fabric out to see the effect created by their selected fabrics. We all have a good time and customers tell me it is their cheeriest way to shop for fabric!

There are some good options for a lunch or tea-time snack if you are coming into Vancouver with your quilting friends. I particularly recommend the following as offering unique experiences for coffee and a treat or a lunch during your outing.
Truffles at Van Dusen Gardens
Plan to take time to enjoy high tea at Truffles, the new patio restaurant in the brand new Van Dusen gardens entrance building. At Truffles the high tea is $50 for 4 or $28 for 2 people. And the view is out into the lovely lake and water fountain at Van Dusen's. I've eaten there several times while on garden visits with my mom and grand-kids, and the food is excellent. There is always a good soup, several panini options, and salads also available. Here's a link to some information about Truffles:
The Secret Garden on West Blvd
Located in the heart of Kerrisdale, this tea spot has become a favourite of the local community and also a destination for folks coming into the city for a day of shopping. The menu includes a high tea option, at $26.95 per person, as well as soups and sandwiches. Reservations for high tea are recommended. Here's a link to some information about The Secret Garden:
Faubourg on 41st Ave.
Faubourg is a "new tradition" in Kerrisdale. It opened in the fall of 2011 and was an immediate hit with the locals. It is an outlet of a Paris-based coffee house and bistro, and offers great coffee, excellent bread and pastries, and also a high tea and lunch menu. Here's the link to their website:
