I’ve been treating myself to some serious quilting time, and so have not been in touch via this blog. When you come to visit I have a lot of new quilts to show you… the creative time has been good for my soul as I know it also is for yours.
The brutal war launched by Russia on the people of Ukraine has moved me to reach out with a program to promote sales that will benefit the Ukraine in their time of need.
From now through the month of April:
You will receive 15% off on your purchases
I will donate another 15% of all purchases to two charities supporting the Ukraine — The World Kitchen, feeding refugees from Ukraine, and Doctors Without Borders for their efforts in Ukraine.
Here is a bit of news about what is available currently in my studio. You can book your visit by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
This has been backordered for over a year, but all my orders have now arrived! I am well stocked with the batting available:
by the M (96″ wide) – $36/M King (120 x 120) – $130 Queen (96 x 108) – $95 Full (81 x 96) – $75 Twin (72 x 96) – $55 Throw (60 x 60) – $30
I use this batting for all my baby quilts and throws. It is light, drapes beautifully with no stiffness, is warm but breathes. Washes and dries beautifully.
7 Half-yard Fabric bundles
There are lots of choices available in combinations sure to inspire. These “Kate and Claudia” – curated sets will get you started on a new project using a palette that’s something new for you! $70 each.
There are several new designs available as either patterns or full kits. Here are a couple of photos for you of my new design “Sunny with a Chance of Flowers.”
Stef Francis Perle Cottons
Sizes 3, 5 and 8 in all available colours are in stock and prices at $4.50/skein… One skein can add a lovely touch of texture and interest to any finished quilt.
Online Fabric Store Sample Rice Pouches
Using a pattern I purchased online, I spent part of the Christmas break working with each of our granddaughters to make these lovely pouches.
These small projects give me a chance to develop new colour palettes for larger projects.
Several new quilts to show you in this category. Donna sent this photo of the Heading Home quilt she made for a nephew on the west coast. She used extra fabric from the kit to make the lovely headboard wallhanging.
Marilyn B. made this on-point square in square quilt using one of my $99 fabric bundles… enough for the whole throw.
Karen B. made the lovely HST quilt using some fabrics from me, and some acquired elsewhere… lovely coordinating!
My Covid, broken wrist quilt
I finally finished this quilt that I know many of you have seen in the works. When I broke my wrist late August of 2019, Susan was good enough to cut me a gazillion 1.5″ strips so I could make this quilt.
I was able to do the small cuts required for each block so I finally tackled a log cabin… something I’ve always had a bit of a yen to do. This quilt is now in Ireland with my sister in their new retirement home.
I’m sure there is more I should have shown you and told you, but you’ve probably had enough reading and I’ve had enough writing!
I hope lots of you take advantage of this April sale so that we can send lots of money to those on the ground helping Ukrainians in their time of dire need. You’ll hear from me at the end of April with word about how much we were able to send to those charities.
Wishing you all well.
