This quilt is an original design of mine and I've created a few kits so that you can make it too! Alternatively, if you love the quilt and have a quilt maker in your life who will make it for you, this kit will provide the pattern with complete instructions and all the fabric for the top and binding. It's a great beginner quilt project... easy to assemble and quite quick.

I had completely sold out of my original kits but was able to obtain one more bolt of the Japanese feature fabric (now out of print) and created a slightly different version using many of the original prints and cotton-linens, but replacing a couple of the fabrics with AGF solids... the PURE solids that are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified to be free of harmful chemicals or dyes at any point in the processing of the fabric. The full frame quilt photo on this listing shows the new version of the quilt; other photos are from the original quilt with only slightly different fabrics. Also shown are photos including a picture of the optional backing fabric with the new quilt.

The feature print is light and airy, organic and contemporary... with just the perfect amount of understatement that is so common in Japanese designs. The feature fabric is complemented by a selection of printed and woven cottons and cotton-linens, so that the finished quilt has textural variety that makes it particularly appealing to wrap around you or someone you love. For my adult daughters, this quilt is a favourite. Its clean lines and soft colours with a splash of chartreuse create a quilt that conveys a modern aesthetic.

The quilt is a half-square triangle design, so construction is simple and quick. It is a good beginner quilt project. I've re-written the pattern so that it provides instructions for completing most of the half-square triangle blocks by working with squares, thus avoiding sewing bias edges. The quilt finishes at 60" x 75", a great size for curling up under on your front porch or for using as an accent in a bedroom.
