I've had a few very quiet weeks and enjoyed myself immensely! However the fabric I ordered several months ago has been coming in and I realize it is starting to build up again... time for my Spring 2023 sale! Until the end of May, all fabric in my regular studio will be 20% off. This includes the fabic featured here, and of course all my Essex linens, AGF solids, batting, kits, and bundles. A good time to start a new project.
Book a visit for yourself and up to 3 friends. It will be a fun outing!
In addition, my online store will also have a 20% off sale. Use coupon code: springsale2023.
Last call for the clearance room...
I and many of you have had lots of fun clearing out the fabric that I will no longer be stocking. However I'm ready to move on from this and get the room emptied and set up as my quilting studio. There are still lots of lovely fabrics and they will be there until the end of May. At that point I'll be looking for places to donate what remains. If you have any suggestions for groups that could use these donations, please email me at lorna.shapiro@gmail.com.

Mostly Teal!
This is my most recent quilt design and it is truly my happy place when it comes to palette.
The simple HST design makes this easy to create and the palette is so soothing I want to curl up with a good book every time I look at this quilt!
Both a kit and the pattern are available in my studio and online.
Hobbs silk batting update
I learned this week that Hobbs has discontinued the Twin size of its wonderful silk batting, and also the rolls of 96" wide batting. Twins can no longer be found, but I have purchased all the bolts of 96" wide silk batting that I could lay my hands on - 4 rolls of 13M. This allows us to still get the 72" x 96" that was the twin size. The silk batting creates a quilt with amazing drape and the very best thermal qualities... it is warm but completely breathable. Washer and dryer friendly, it is my absolute favourite for throws. For bed quilts I prefer Hobbs wool batting which has more loft.
For those of you who love this silk batting - and I know many of you do - now is a good time to stock up. My concern, of course, is that if they have discontinued those items, will the other sizes of silk batting also be discontinued.
I think that is it for now. Wishing you all well, and that the warm weather is just around the corner!
Lorna
